Audi India has officially commenced bookings for the highly anticipated Q8 facelift, with deliveries slated to commence on August 22nd. Potential buyers can secure their spot by paying a token amount of Rs 5 lakh, either online or at authorized dealerships.
While the core mechanicals remain unchanged, the facelift brings a series of subtle refinements to the exterior and interior, along with an infusion of new technology.
Under the Hood: Familiar Powertrain
The Q8 facelift continues to be propelled by a potent 3.0-liter V6 turbo-petrol engine, paired with a mild-hybrid system. This powertrain delivers an impressive 340 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, ensuring brisk performance. Power is channeled through an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox, and Audi’s renowned quattro all-wheel drive system is standard. The sprint from 0 to 100 kph is dispatched in a claimed 5.6 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 250 kph.
Exterior Enhancements
The most noticeable changes are reserved for the exterior. The Q8 facelift boasts new HD Matrix LED headlights with laser assist for the high beam, enhancing visibility and safety. The front grille has been subtly revised with new octagonal apertures and ‘L’ shaped inserts, while the air intakes in the bumper have undergone a similar reshaping.
At the rear, the OLED taillights steal the show with four selectable light designs that synchronize with the headlights. While the overall silhouette remains largely unchanged, these subtle tweaks contribute to a more modern and sophisticated appearance.
Refined Interior with New Tech
Inside, the Q8’s cabin retains its luxurious and spacious character, with minimal alterations. The focus is on enhancing technology and connectivity. The carmaker has introduced an expanded app store, allowing owners to access popular music streaming services like Spotify and Amazon Music directly from the infotainment system. Additionally, the driver assistance systems have been upgraded for improved safety and convenience.
Color and Trim Options
To cater to diverse preferences, Audi offers a palette of eight exterior colors for the Q8 facelift, including eye-catching options like Sakhir Gold and Waitomo Blue. Complementing the exterior, customers can choose from four interior color schemes to create their ideal cabin ambiance. Standard fitment includes 21-inch gunmetal-finished 5-spoke alloy wheels.
Pricing and Expectations
While the official prices will be announced on August 22nd, it is reasonable to expect a slight increase over the outgoing model, which was priced between Rs 1.07 crore and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom). The facelift’s additional features and cosmetic enhancements are likely to justify a premium.
With the Q8 facelift, Audi aims to solidify its position in the luxury SUV segment by offering a compelling blend of style, performance, and technology.
