This video covers a real used-car buying experience at Cars24 on a 7–8 lakh budget, after visiting multiple local dealers and finding no satisfaction there. It walks through a 2023 Kia Sonet the car's inspection report, tyre and scratch checks, RC transfer timeline, warranty options (including the lifetime warranty), and full price break-up so if you're deciding between a dealer and a platform like Cars24 for your next used car, this shows exactly what the process and paperwork look like.

We'd initially been looking at local dealers, visiting 4-5 of them in this budget, but didn't get the satisfaction or transparency we wanted, which is what brought us to Cars24 instead.

The inspection detail was the most reassuring part. The app shows a full report broken into perfect parts, imperfections, repainted panels, and tyre condition so you can check exactly what's original and what's been touched up before you commit. The Sonet we looked at had run about 30,000 km, and the odometer reading itself is verifiable through the platform, so tampering isn't something you have to just take on faith.

RC transfer is handled entirely by Cars24 you just submit your documents, and the digital RC typically arrives in 18-20 days, with the physical copy taking 80-90 days. There's also a buyer coverage plan as an add-on: if the RC transfer doesn't go through, the transfer cost gets refunded.

On warranty, there are two layers. The first 30 days come with a free comprehensive cover clutch, suspension, steering, drivetrain, engine, gearbox, and mechanicals like the AC compressor with pick-and-drop for any repairs. Beyond that, a lifetime warranty is available as an add-on (around ₹15,000 for this car), covering the engine, transmission, and ECU for 12 years from the registration date or up to 1.5 lakh km, whichever comes first. Insurance is a separate add-on and depends on whether the previous owner's policy is still valid.

Overall, the 30-day return policy and the lifetime warranty were the two standout reasons this felt like a safer way to buy a used car than going through a dealer directly.
