Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Spied in India: What to Expect From the Updated SUV
Volkswagen is preparing to refresh its popular midsize SUV, the Taigun, and the first spy shots of the facelifted model undergoing testing in India have surfaced. The heavily camouflaged prototype suggests notable design tweaks and potential feature additions, positioning the Taigun facelift as a key player in the segment’s 2026 lineup.

Exterior Updates: Subtle but Sharper
The test mule, spotted in Pune, reveals updated LED headlamp elements, a reworked front bumper, and potentially a new grille layout inspired by VW’s global design cues. At the rear, revised LED taillamps, possibly with a connected light bar, and a refreshed bumper are expected.
New alloy wheels and color options are also likely, giving the SUV a sharper and more contemporary look, in line with competitors like the updated Creta and Seltos.

Interior & Features: Focus on ADAS and Tech
While the interior remains under wraps, sources suggest Volkswagen may introduce ADAS Level 2 features, such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keeping assist, in select variants. This move would bring the Taigun up to speed with rivals offering advanced driver assistance systems.
Additional interior enhancements could include:
- Updated infotainment with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay
- Refreshed dashboard elements
- Premium upholstery and ambient lighting upgrades
Powertrain: No Mechanical Changes Expected
The facelift is likely to retain the current powertrain lineup:
- 1.0L TSI (115 PS) with 6-speed MT / 6-speed AT
- 1.5L TSI EVO (150 PS) with 6-speed MT / 7-speed DSG
These engines are known for their refinement, peppy performance, and efficiency, and are likely to carry over unchanged in the facelifted model.
