2025 Land Rover Defender Octa Launched At Rs 2.59 Crore

The 2025 Land Rover Defender Octa has made its grand entrance into the Indian market, priced at an impressive Rs 2.59 crore (ex-showroom). The Octa variant, alongside its exclusive Octa Edition One version priced at Rs 2.79 crore, represents the pinnacle of rugged luxury and off-road capability, blending unmatched performance with bold design cues.
Design and Exterior Enhancements
The Defender Octa showcases a commanding presence on the road, thanks to its elevated ride height—28 mm higher than the standard model—and a wider stance by 68 mm. It features redesigned bumpers that significantly improve approach and departure angles, adding to its formidable off-road prowess. A ground clearance of 323 mm makes it a top choice for navigating rough terrains.
The Octa’s aesthetics are accentuated by extended wheel arches and exclusive paint options like Petra Copper and Faroe Green, while an optional matte protective film enhances durability. Carbon fiber accents adorn the exterior, while a diamond-shaped Octa badge on the C-pillar gives it a distinctive identity. Wheel options include standard 20-inch alloys and optional 22-inch alloys, and it will only be available in the five-door 110 body style.
Premium and Robust Interior
Inside, the Defender Octa strikes a balance between luxury and toughness. The Octa Edition One features a dual-tone Khaki and Ebony interior, while the standard Octa variant offers Burnt Sienna or Light Cloud color schemes. The cabin retains the familiar design of the standard Defender but enhances comfort with performance seats that boast superior bolstering.
A standout feature is the Body and Soul Seat audio system, integrating haptic motors that allow occupants to feel the sound for an immersive experience. Additionally, the car is equipped with a cutting-edge infotainment system comprising an 11.4-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, and a 15-speaker Meridian sound system. Comfort is maximized with 14-way adjustable heated and ventilated seats and a three-zone climate control system.
Performance and Powertrain
Under the hood, the Defender Octa is driven by a 4.4-liter twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8 petrol engine that delivers a staggering 635 PS and 750 Nm of torque. When launch mode is activated, torque surges to 800 Nm, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 4 seconds. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and a robust four-wheel drive system, making it the most powerful Defender to date.
Advanced Suspension and Driving Dynamics
To further enhance its performance, the Defender Octa comes with a 6D Dynamics suspension system, reducing body roll on paved roads while enhancing wheel articulation during off-road adventures. The inclusion of Octa Mode optimizes suspension, steering, and throttle responses for rough terrain, while Off-Road ABS ensures better braking on loose surfaces.
The braking system features 400 mm front brake discs with Brembo calipers, providing excellent stopping power even in demanding conditions. Stronger, longer wishbones add to the vehicle’s stability and durability.
Safety and Technology
Safety is paramount in the Defender Octa, which comes equipped with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and a comprehensive ADAS suite. Features include adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring, rear pre-collision assist, and a 360-degree camera system to ensure superior visibility and safety.
