Genesis X Gran Equator Concept Revealed โ€“ A Future Luxury Off-Roader

Genesis has shown off its new X Gran Equator Concept at the 2025 New York Auto Show. This tough, stylish SUV hints at a future model that will go up against rugged luxury vehicles like the Land Rover Defender, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Mercedes-Benz G-Class.

๐Ÿš™ Bold and Rugged Exterior

  • Strong and Sleek Look:
The Gran Equator mixes Genesis’ classy style with a rugged SUV shape. It has a long bonnet, a short front overhang, and a steeply raked windshield, giving it a sturdy yet premium look โ€” similar to cars like the Audi A6 Allroad and Volvo V90 Cross Country.
  • Unique Lighting:
It features Genesis’ signature two-line LED lights at the front and back, which stretch into the fenders, adding a futuristic touch.
  • Ready for Off-Road:
It rides on big 24-inch beadlock wheels with chunky tires for off-roading. Roof rails and a split tailgate (which opens sideways) also make it practical for adventurous use.

๐Ÿ›‹๏ธ Simple Yet Luxurious Interior

  • Old-School Touches:
Inside, Genesis has gone for a more classic, simple style rather than filling the cabin with massive touchscreens. It uses four round digital displays that look like old-school gauges.
  • Physical Controls:
The SUV sticks with real buttons and dials instead of relying heavily on touch, helping drivers stay focused without getting distracted.
  • Premium Feel:
Materials like quilted leather and woven fabrics are used throughout, giving the cabin a high-end yet durable feel.

โš™๏ธ Whatโ€™s Underneath?

  • Electric and Hybrid Choices Coming:
Genesis hasn’t shared exact engine details yet. However, they say the production version will likely offer a fully electric option, along with hybrid and range-extender versions, to meet different customer needs.

๐Ÿ—“๏ธ Launch Plans

Genesis hasnโ€™t announced when it will officially launch the production model, but it’s expected to hit the market around 2028. When it arrives, it will focus on offering a fresh alternative to the traditional tough luxury SUVs, blending Genesis’ stylish design with strong off-road ability.
