Kia Syros Crosses 20,000 Bookings Milestone

Feb 26, 2025

Kia commenced accepting reservations for the Syros on January 3, 2025, and in under two months (by February 24), the vehicle has amassed over 20,000 bookings. This remarkable demand can be attributed to Kia’s introduction of a premium and spacious option in the subcompact SUV market, offering consumers a distinctive and attractive choice.

Kia has provided insights into consumer preferences: 46% of customers have chosen the top-tier variants; 67% have opted for petrol-powered models; and over 38% have selected automatic transmissions. In terms of color choices, Glacier White Pearl leads with 32% of bookings, followed by Aurora Black Pearl at 26%, and Frost Blue at 20%.

Here are five standout features of the Syros that distinguish it in its segment:

Expansive Displays

The Syros is equipped with dual 12.3-inch screens for both the infotainment system and the digital driver’s display. Additionally, it features a 5-inch screen dedicated to climate control settings, culminating in a combined 30-inch display area. Notably, even the larger Seltos model offers smaller dual 10.25-inch screens. The Syros’ infotainment system supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration.

Ventilated Rear Seats

Setting a benchmark in its class, the Syros offers ventilated rear seats—a feature typically found in higher-end vehicles. This enhancement ensures added comfort for rear passengers, complementing the existing rear AC vents.

Side Parking Sensors

Beyond the standard front and rear parking sensors, the Syros is equipped with side parking sensors. This safety feature is unique in its segment, as even larger SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos are limited to front and rear sensors only.

Adjustable Rear Seating

Prioritizing passenger comfort, the Syros offers rear seats that can slide and recline, allowing occupants to adjust their seating position for optimal comfort. This feature is particularly advantageous for those who frequently travel in the back seat.

64-Color Ambient Lighting

While ambient lighting is available in some SUVs within this category, the Syros elevates the experience by offering a selection of 64 colors. This extensive range enhances the cabin’s ambiance, providing a personalized and premium feel.

The Kia Syros is priced between Rs 8.99 lakh and Rs 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom). It serves as a premium alternative to subcompact SUVs such as the Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, and Mahindra XUV 3OO. Additionally, it competes with models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Maruti Grand Vitara, given its similar pricing structure.
