Mahindra Scorpio N Carbon Launched At Rs 19.19 Lakh

Mahindra has unveiled the Scorpio N Carbon, an exclusive all-black edition of its popular SUV, starting at Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). This special variant is built upon the higher-spec Z8 and Z8 L trims, offering a fresh aesthetic while maintaining the robust features and performance the Scorpio N is known for.
Design Enhancements
The Scorpio N Carbon distinguishes itself with a comprehensive all-black exterior makeover. While the SUV retains its signature LED lighting and chrome-accented grille, several elements have been darkened to enhance its aggressive stance:
- Front Fascia: The skid plate now features a dark grey finish, replacing the standard light silver, contributing to a more assertive front profile.
- Side Profile: Traditional silver accents on the body cladding, roof rails, and window surrounds have been blacked out. The previously dual-tone alloy wheels are now entirely black, complementing the vehicle’s stealthy appearance.
- Rear Aspect: The LED taillights remain unchanged; however, the rear skid plate mirrors the front with a dark grey finish, and the door handles are adorned with dark chrome, maintaining the cohesive dark theme.
Interior Features
Inside, the all-black theme continues, creating a sophisticated and unified cabin environment:
- Upholstery and Trim: Seats are upholstered in a black and grey combination, while the dashboard features silver accents on the center console, air vents, and door handles. The steering wheel includes subtle chrome touches with silver finishes on two spokes.
- Technology and Comfort: The Scorpio N Carbon is equipped with advanced features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 7-inch instrument cluster, wireless phone charging with cooling, automatic headlights, dual-zone climate control, a 12-speaker Sony sound system, ventilated front seats with six-way power adjustment for the driver, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and steering-mounted controls.
Safety and Performance
Safety remains a priority, with the Scorpio N Carbon offering:
- Safety Features: Six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold and descent control, electronic stability control, tire pressure monitoring system, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and front and rear parking sensors.
Under the hood, the Scorpio N Carbon retains its robust powertrain options:
- Engine Options:
- 2.0-litre Turbo Petrol: Delivers 203 PS and 370 Nm of torque.
- 2.2-litre Diesel: Produces up to 175 PS and 400 Nm of torque in higher trims; lower variants offer 132 PS and 300 Nm.
- Transmission: Both engines are available with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions.
- Drivetrain: The petrol variant comes with rear-wheel drive, while the diesel offers both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive options.
Pricing and Competition
Priced between Rs 19.19 lakh and Rs 24.89 lakh (ex-showroom), the Mahindra Scorpio N Carbon competes with models like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari. It also serves as a body-on-frame alternative to compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Honda Elevate.
