Maserati MC20 GT2 Stradale: A Track-Focused Masterpiece

Maserati has unveiled a more extreme version of its MC20 supercar, the GT2 Stradale. This track-oriented model is a testament to Maserati’s commitment to performance and driving exhilaration.

A Symphony of Power and Weight Reduction

The GT2 Stradale boasts a refined version of the MC20’s 3.0-liter V6 engine, delivering 640 horsepower. Combined with a dramatic weight reduction of 60kg, bringing the total to 1,365kg, the GT2 Stradale rockets from 0 to 100 km/h in an astonishing 2.8 seconds. These figures place it in direct competition with high-performance models like the McLaren 750S and Ferrari 296 GTB.

Aerodynamics and Handling

A key focus for the GT2 Stradale was enhancing aerodynamic performance. An aggressive aero kit, featuring a prominent front diffuser and the GT2’s substantial rear wing, generates an impressive 500kg of downforce at 280 km/h. This substantial increase in downforce significantly improves high-speed stability and cornering grip.

To complement the aerodynamic enhancements, Maserati has equipped the GT2 Stradale with a suspension setup and steering rack derived from the GT2 race car. This, combined with upgraded brakes and a track-biased anti-lock system, ensures exceptional handling and braking performance.

A Track-Ready Beast

The GT2 Stradale offers an even more focused driving experience through an optional Corsa Evo driving mode, which features an advanced, four-level traction control system. Additional performance packs can further enhance the car’s capabilities with Michelin semi-slick tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, and four-point seatbelts.

A Premium Price Tag

The GT2 Stradale comes with a premium over the standard MC20, reflecting its enhanced performance and exclusive nature. While the exact pricing has not been finalized, it is expected to command a significant premium.

Maserati’s decision to introduce the GT2 Stradale is strategic. It not only showcases the brand’s engineering prowess but also contributes to its financial goals by targeting a segment with higher profit margins.
