New Toyotas & Lexuses at Auto Expo

Jan 16, 2025

The 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado 250 shares its foundation with the TNGA-F ladder frame platform, the same architecture that supports the larger Land Cruiser Prado 300. Drawing design inspiration from the classic J60 Series Land Cruiser of the 1960s, the new model embraces a boxy, utilitarian aesthetic that emphasizes functionality and durability.

For the 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, the North American version is equipped with a 2.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine featuring mild-hybrid technology. This powertrain delivers an impressive 326 bhp and 630 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, markets such as Europe, Japan, the Middle East, and Australia receive a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine, producing 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This diesel unit is shared with models like the Fortuner and Hilux.

Lexus LF-ZC :

Introducing the LF-ZC – a new battery electric concept car that debuted at the Japanese Mobility Show alongside sister car, the LF-ZL.

Exhibiting more versatile packaging, this is all thanks to the downsizing and weight reduction of all its structural components. The LF-ZC will also benefit from the never-ending honing of the Lexus Driving Signature that has gone hand-in-hand with the evolution of new electrification technologies. Presenting both functionality and beauty without compromise, witness Lexus’ vision for BEVs with these two new concept cars.

Lexus is set to unveil the LF-ZC concept, a preview of a premium electric sedan slated for release in 2026. Designed with a modular architecture, the LF-ZC positions its batteries centrally, providing flexibility for the front and rear structures. This adaptability allows the model to support various sizes and powertrain options, including single-motor and dual-motor setups. The top-tier variant is expected to deliver an impressive range of over 1,000 km when it enters production.

The LF-ZC also introduces Lexus’s latest design language, characterized by sharp, aerodynamic lines optimized for efficiency. Inside, the cabin features a futuristic steering yoke with steer-by-wire technology, complemented by digital control pads distributed across the cockpit for an immersive driving experience.

ROV Concept Car :

The other concept, perhaps the whackier of the two, will be the hydrogen-powered concept buggy called the ROV. It is Lexus’ take on an all-terrain vehicle, with some of the brand’s signature styling elements in a compact and rugged body style. The ROV has an open cockpit that’s heavily donned with carbon fibre, and it also features a single-piece instrument cluster. While two concepts will adorn Lexus’ ‘Future Zone’, the brand is expected to showcase its existing line-up in the ‘Hybrid Zone’. It will also have a ‘Lifestyle Zone’.
