Tata Altroz Racer Bookings Open, Launch on 7 June

Tata Motors has officially started accepting bookings for the Altroz Racer, the sportier version of the Altroz hatchback, ahead of its launch on June 7. The Racer variant features distinctive exterior and interior finishes, enhanced equipment, and a more powerful engine.

Variants and Features of Tata Altroz Racer:
The Altroz Racer will be available in three variants: R1, R2, and R3. The entry-level R1 variant is already better equipped than the top-spec XZ+ trim of the standard Altroz, featuring additional items such as four extra airbags, a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, and a sportier exhaust system. However, it retains a 4-inch semi-analogue instrument cluster and lacks a sunroof.

For a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, powered sunroof, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, and blind spot monitor, customers need to opt for the R2 variant. The top-spec R3 variant includes Tata’s connected car technology, ventilated front seats, and an air purifier. Notably, the Altroz Racer introduces segment-first features like cooled seats and a 360-degree camera with blind spot monitoring.

Powertrain of Tata Altroz Racer:
The leaked brochure confirms that the Altroz Racer will be powered by the 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo-petrol engine from the Nexon, producing 120hp and 170Nm of peak torque, paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. To enhance its sporty appeal, the Racer will also have a sportier exhaust sound.

Interior and Exterior Highlights of Tata Altroz Racer:
Spy shots reveal that the Altroz Racer will feature a dual-tone finish similar to the model displayed at the 2024 Bharat Mobility Expo, but with standard 16-inch alloy wheels. The Racer will be available in three paint options: Atomic Orange, Avenue White, and Pure Grey, all featuring a contrasting black finish on the bonnet and roof, along with white racing stripes on the bonnet. The interior design will complement the exterior, with highlights of the corresponding exterior color around the AC vents, center console, gearbox, and seat upholstery.

Warranty and Pricing Expectations:
Tata will offer a standard 3-year/1 lakh km warranty with the Altroz Racer. The Altroz Racer is expected to be priced significantly higher than the standard Altroz iTurbo, which currently ranges between Rs 9.20 lakh and Rs 10.10 lakh (ex-showroom, India).
