Toyota has released the first glimpse of its upcoming compact SUV, the Taisor, ahead of its price reveal on April 3. Deliveries are slated to commence by late April or early May, according to dealer sources, setting the stage for an exciting entry into the Indian SUV market.
Compact Dynamism:
Positioned as Toyota’s smallest SUV in India, the Taisor is poised to make a big impact. Drawing parallels with the Fronx, the Taisor is expected to share many body panels, albeit with subtle design differentiations. Notable changes include a refreshed front grille, tweaked front and rear bumpers, and a fresh alloy wheel design, hinting at a distinct visual identity.
Sophisticated Interiors:
Inside the Taisor, expect to find a blend of familiarity and innovation. Minor adjustments to interior trim and upholstery aim to distinguish the Taisor from its Maruti counterpart. Equipped with a 9-inch infotainment screen, 360-degree camera, heads-up display, and other creature comforts, the Taisor promises a refined driving experience akin to its Fronx sibling. Beneath the hood, the Taisor is likely to inherit the reliable 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine from the Fronx, alongside the versatile 1.0-litre Boosterjet petrol option. Speculation also surrounds the potential introduction of a CNG-powered variant, further expanding the Taisor’s appeal in the market.
Fierce Competition:
Set to rival the Fronx and a host of other compact SUVs, the Taisor enters a fiercely contested segment. Competitors include the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and the upcoming refreshed Mahindra XUV300, promising consumers an array of compelling choices in the compact SUV landscape.
