Valentino Rossi special BMW M4 CS Edition VR46 launched
BMW has unveiled the 2025 M4 CS Edition VR46, a limited-run model celebrating the 46th anniversary of Valentino Rossi, the nine-time motorcycle world champion and current BMW Motorsport works driver. This special edition is based on the M4 CS introduced last year and features unique cosmetic enhancements to honor Rossi’s iconic “46” racing number.
Exterior Design
The M4 CS Edition VR46 is available in two exclusive colors: Marina Bay Blue Metallic and matte Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic, both previously unavailable for the standard M4 CS. Distinctive “46” motifs are hand-painted on the vehicle, complemented by Sao Paulo Yellow accents—a nod to Rossi’s signature fluorescent yellow. Bright yellow brake calipers and partially yellow forged wheels, indicating the tire valve stem location, further enhance its striking appearance. Additionally, Rossi’s autograph adorns the roof, and “VR46” lettering is present at the rear.
Interior Features
Inside, the VR46 theme continues with yellow accents throughout the cabin. “VR46” branding is prominently displayed on the door sills, seats, and other interior elements, creating a cohesive and personalized environment that reflects Rossi’s racing legacy.
Performance Specifications
Mechanically, the M4 CS Edition VR46 mirrors the standard M4 CS. It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six engine producing 543 horsepower. Paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, the car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds, reaches 124 mph in 11.1 seconds, and has an electronically limited top speed of 188 mph.
Production and Pricing
Production is limited to 92 units, evenly split between the two color options—46 in Marina Bay Blue Metallic and 46 in Frozen Tanzanite Blue Metallic. A select number of these vehicles are allocated for the U.S. market. Priced at $155,000 before destination charges, the M4 CS Edition VR46 stands as the most expensive M4 variant to date, surpassing the standard M4 CS by $31,500 and the M4 CSL by $15,100.
Exclusive Ownership Experience
Purchasing the M4 CS Edition VR46 offers more than just ownership of a rare vehicle. Owners are invited to meet Valentino Rossi at the VR46 Motor Ranch in Tavullia, Italy. The experience includes a subsequent visit to the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where participants can test the latest BMW M models, providing an immersive insight into Rossi’s world and BMW’s performance engineering.
