Volkswagen recently announced the prices for its latest variants, the Taigun GT Line and GT Plus Sport. The GT Line, equipped with a 1.0-liter engine, comes in manual and auto options, starting from Rs 14.08 lakh. Meanwhile, the GT Plus Sport, powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with manual and dual-clutch auto choices, starts from Rs 18.54 lakh. Additionally, VW offers a complimentary 4-year Service Value Package (SVP) for higher-spec GT Plus Sport trims, with deliveries already underway this month.
Distinctive Features of Taigun GT Line:
The Taigun GT Line stands out with its 115hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine, offering both manual and torque converter automatic transmissions. It retains similar features to the top-spec Taigun Chrome Topline variant but boasts cosmetic differences. Notable differences include black 17-inch ‘Cassino’ alloy wheels, black finish replacing chrome elements like the front grille and badges, and a blacked-out interior theme with contrast grey stitching.
Unique Attributes of Taigun GT Plus Sport:
Exclusive to the Taigun GT Plus Sport is the 150hp, 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, available with manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmissions. It inherits features from the top-spec Taigun GT Plus Chrome but with blacked-out styling and additional contrasting red accents on exterior badges, brake calipers, and interior elements such as seats, steering wheel, and armrests. Moreover, the GT Plus Sport boasts aluminium pedals for a sportier feel.
Rivalry and Market Competition:
These variants of the Taigun are set to compete with similar offerings such as the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo, Kia Seltos X-Line, and Hyundai Creta N Line, all offering distinct features and price ranges within the market segment.
