Tata Harrier EV Set for India Launch on June 3

Tata Motors has officially confirmed that the much-anticipated Harrier EV will make its debut in India on June 3, 2025. The electric SUV was first revealed in a near-production form earlier this year at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

⚡ Powertrain and Driving Range

The Harrier EV will feature a dual-motor setup, enabling all-wheel-drive (AWD) capabilities. While Tata hasn’t released full technical specs yet, the expected driving range is around 500 kilometers on a single charge, according to their internal C75 testing cycle. This range positions it as a practical choice for long-distance electric travel.

🔧 Platform and Advanced Features

This electric SUV is based on Tata’s Acti.EV architecture, a dedicated platform for electric vehicles. Key technologies expected to be part of the Harrier EV include:

  • Multiple Terrain Modes for enhanced off-road performance.
  • Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing it to power external devices like camping gear or electronics.
  • Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging, enabling the SUV to charge another electric vehicle directly.

These features make the Harrier EV not just a commuter car, but a versatile companion for adventures and emergencies alike.

🖼️ Exterior and Interior Design

Exterior Updates

  • closed-off upper grille for better aerodynamics.
  • Chrome accents around a reprofiled air dam that may house radar sensors.
  • Connected LED light bars both front and rear for a futuristic look.
  • Stylish turbine-like alloy wheels, likely ranging between 17 to 19 inches.
  • Prominent “.EV” badging on the doors and tailgate to mark its electric identity.

Interior Highlights

  • A dual-tone dashboard finish for a premium feel.
  • floating touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver display.
  • Touch-sensitive HVAC controls for a sleeker look.
  • rotary dial for selecting terrain modes, mounted on the center console.

💸 Price Expectations and Competition

Tata is expected to price the Harrier EV between ₹25 lakh and ₹30 lakh (ex-showroom). This places it in direct competition with electric SUVs such as the upcoming Mahindra XUV.e8 and Hyundai’s Ioniq 5. Given its features and brand presence, the Harrier EV is likely to attract buyers looking for a robust, premium electric SUV.

📅 Launch Date and Significance

The official launch date is June 3, 2025, and the Harrier EV will mark Tata’s foray into the upper-tier electric SUV space. It will join the brand’s growing EV portfolio alongside the Nexon EV and Tiago EV, further solidifying Tata’s position as a leader in India’s EV market.
