Feb 6, 2025

Aston Martin has unveiled its latest contender for endurance racing: the Valkyrie AMR-LMH. This hypercar is set to compete in both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA SportsCar Championship, marking Aston Martin’s return to top-tier endurance racing.

Technical Specifications

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is a race-modified version of Aston Martin’s Valkyrie, featuring a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine developed in collaboration with Cosworth. In its road-going form, this engine produces over 1,000 horsepower at 10,500 rpm, with a redline at 11,100 rpm. For compliance with LMH regulations, the race version’s power output is capped at 500 kW (approximately 680 horsepower), with a significant emphasis on fuel efficiency.

Driver Lineup

Aston Martin has confirmed its driver pairings for the Valkyrie AMR-LMH. Car #007 will be driven by Tom Gamble and Harry Tincknell, while Car #009 will feature Álex Riberas and Marco Sørensen. In the IMSA SportsCar Championship, Roman De Angelis and Ross Gunn will represent the team.

Testing and Development

To ensure the Valkyrie AMR-LMH’s competitiveness and reliability, Aston Martin has conducted extensive testing since July 2024. The car has covered over 15,000 kilometers across tracks such as Donington Park, Silverstone, Vallelunga, and Daytona, with the goal of optimizing its performance for diverse racing conditions.

The Valkyrie AMR-LMH is scheduled to make its competitive debut at the 2025 Qatar 1812 km, the opening round of the WEC season, on February 28, 2025.
