AUDI RS Q8 set to Launch Tomorrow: 4.0L Engine
Audi India is set to launch the facelifted RS Q8 Performance SUV on February 17, 2025. Bookings are currently open, requiring a deposit of Rs 5 lakh, and can be made exclusively online or through the myAudi Connect app. The RS Q8 will be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) and is expected to be available in a fully loaded single variant, with prices starting from Rs 1.8 crore (ex-showroom). It will compete with models like the Lamborghini Urus, Porsche Cayenne GTS, and BMW XM.
Under the hood, the new RS Q8 is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 640 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, enabling the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds.
Design-wise, while maintaining the overall silhouette of the standard Q8, the RS Q8 boasts a more aggressive and bold appearance. It features a refreshed black grille with a 3D honeycomb pattern, carbon-fibre elements on the front lip and air vents, redesigned front and rear bumpers with larger air intakes, LED Matrix headlights, and OLED taillights. Additional exterior highlights include red brake calipers, sleek roof rails, an integrated rear spoiler, customizable daytime running lights, a shark fin antenna, large dual exhaust outlets, and standard 22-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels, with an option to upgrade to 23-inch wheels at an extra cost.
Inside, the RS Q8 offers a familiar layout with updated upholstery and new sports seats. The SUV is equipped with features such as four-zone climate control, a Bang & Olufsen Advanced sound system, a digital virtual cockpit, a powered tailgate, RS-specific drive modes, 360-degree cameras, hands-free parking, active roll stabilization, all-wheel steering, adaptive air suspension, and the new Quattro sport differential.
The RS Q8 is essentially the high-performance variant of the regular Q8, distinguished by its sporty exterior design, enhanced features, and significantly more powerful engine.
