BYD Sealion 7 Unveiled At Auto Expo 2025
BYD, the Chinese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, is set to unveil its latest offering, the Sealion 7, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, commencing on January 17 in New Delhi. This coupe-style SUV is anticipated to launch in India by March 2025, marking BYD’s fourth model in the Indian market, following the Atto 3, Seal sedan, and eMax 7 MPV.
Design and Features
The Sealion 7 draws design inspiration from the BYD Seal sedan, featuring an X-shaped front fascia, sleek LED headlamps, and connected tail lamps. Its aggressive front and rear bumpers, coupled with a coupe-like roofline, lend the SUV a dynamic and modern appearance. Inside, the vehicle boasts a spacious cabin equipped with a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and premium features such as electrically adjustable, heated, and ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof, and a 12-speaker audio system. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are also expected to enhance safety and driving convenience.
Performance and Battery Options
Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0 Evo, the Sealion 7 incorporates the brand’s Blade battery technology. It offers two battery configurations: an 82.5 kWh battery paired with a single motor delivering 308 BHP and 380 Nm of torque, providing a range of approximately 482 km; and a 91.3 kWh battery available in an all-wheel-drive setup with dual motors producing a combined 523 BHP and 690 Nm of torque, offering a range between 456 km and 502 km, depending on the variant.
