Citroën is set to announce the prices for the Dark Edition variants of its Basalt, Aircross, and C3 models on April 10, 2025. These special editions introduce aesthetic enhancements both externally and internally, while retaining the mechanical specifications of their standard counterparts.

Interior Enhancements

The Dark Edition models feature black leatherette upholstery adorned with contrast red stitching and grey inserts on the seats. Notably, the Basalt and Aircross variants receive a new leatherette finish on the dashboard, complemented by contrast red stitching—a significant upgrade from the standard plastic dashboards found in current Citroën models in India. Additional features include illuminated sill plates and ambient footwell lighting, enhancing the overall cabin ambiance.

Exterior Design

Externally, these editions sport a sleek black paint finish, accented by dark chrome elements on the grille inserts and badges. The dual-tone wheels from the standard models are retained, providing a familiar yet distinctive look. Contrasting silver trims on the bumpers remain, offering a subtle break in the monochromatic theme.

Powertrain Options

Mechanically, the Dark Edition variants are expected to mirror the standard models, offering two engine choices:

  • An 82hp, 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine.
  • A 110hp, 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which is available with an automatic transmission.

It is anticipated that the Dark Editions will be available exclusively with the turbocharged engine option. Pricing for these special editions is projected to be approximately ₹10,000 to ₹20,000 higher than the corresponding standard trims.

Market Context

The introduction of the Dark Edition models aligns with a growing trend among automakers to offer special edition vehicles with distinctive styling cues. This strategy aims to cater to consumers seeking unique aesthetic options without compromising on performance or features.

In summary, Citroën’s forthcoming Dark Edition variants of the Basalt, Aircross, and C3 models present a blend of enhanced styling and existing mechanical reliability, providing prospective buyers with an appealing new choice in the market.
