Kia Carens Clavis Gets a Major MY26 Update: New GT-Line, X-Line, and Sub-₹20 Lakh ADAS Introduced

Mar 20, 2026

Kia India has officially rolled out the MY26 edition of its popular family mover, the Carens Clavis, bringing a wave of fresh updates aimed at elevating its premium appeal. With the introduction of the sporty GT-Line and the bold X-Line trims, alongside significant feature enhancements across the mid-level variants, the updated Carens Clavis is packed with more value, safety, and style.

Sporty and Bold: The New GT-Line and X-Line

For buyers looking for an SUV-inspired aesthetic, Kia has expanded the lineup with the GT-Line, available in GTX and GTX+ trims, as well as the exclusive X-Line trim. These new top-tier additions are paired with the peppy G1.5 turbo-petrol powertrain.

  • GT-Line Enhancements: The GTX and GTX+ trims feature a distinctively sporty look with a black high-gloss roof rack and ORVMs. The exterior is further distinguished by new front bumpers with body-colour inserts, LED foglamps, body side garnish, a fresh alloy wheel design, and eye-catching lime brake callipers. Inside, it features metal pedals for a sportier feel.
  • X-Line Exclusives: The X-Line variant ramps up the vehicle’s bold character with an exclusive Dark Gun Metal exterior colour, along with an Aurora Black Pearl option.
  • Premium Tech & Seating: Both the GTX+ and X-Line variants boast next-generation technology, including a Digital Key. Families looking for premium comfort can also opt for captain seats in a six-seater configuration.

Big Feature Upgrades for Mid-Trims

Kia hasn’t just focused on the top end; the mid-level trims have received a substantial boost in features to make premium options more accessible to the Indian audience.

  • The HTK+ trim now comes equipped with an Electric Sunroof.
  • Stepping up to the HTK+(O) trim and beyond, customers will now enjoy a Panoramic Sunroof, LED Headlamps, and a Dashcam.

Advanced Safety & Improved Efficiency

Recognising the growing Indian consumer preference for safety, Kia has introduced a brand new HTX(O)A trim.

  • This new variant is equipped with a Level 2 ADAS pack paired with the G1.5 turbo-petrol engine.
  • Impressively, this brings advanced autonomous safety technologies to a price point below the ₹20 lakh mark.
  • Furthermore, the entire MY26 Carens Clavis lineup now features Idle Stop Go (ISG) technology, which helps reduce unnecessary fuel consumption and optimise fuel economy during idle conditions in urban traffic.

Powertrain Options

The Carens Clavis continues to offer a versatile range of powertrains to meet diverse customer preferences.

  • Engine Options: Buyers can choose between the G1.5 petrol, G1.5 turbo-petrol, and the D1.5 diesel engines.
  • Transmission Options: The engines can be paired with multiple gearboxes, including Manual, iMT, 7-speed DCT, and a 6-speed AT.

Mr Atul Sood, Senior Vice-President of Marketing & Sales at Kia India, noted that the MY26 update responds to evolving customer preferences by introducing distinctive styling trims and expanding access to highly demanded features like sunroofs and ADAS.
