Kia has introduced the K4 hatchback at the 2025 New York International Auto Show, expanding its compact car lineup with a model that blends sporty design, advanced technology, and practical versatility. Positioned to compete with vehicles like the Volkswagen Golf, the K4 hatchback is set to launch in markets across North America, the Middle East, and Asia by late 2025.

🚗 Exterior Design and Dimensions

The K4 hatchback shares its front-end design with the K4 sedan, featuring vertically stacked LED headlights, T-shaped daytime running lights, and Kia’s signature Tiger Nose grille. However, the hatchback distinguishes itself with a more compact rear, measuring 4,431 mm in length—279 mm shorter than the sedan. This reduction in length contributes to a sportier profile and enhanced maneuverability. An exclusive Sparkling Yellow color option further sets the hatchback apart.

🛋️ Interior Features and Technology

Inside, the K4 hatchback offers a tech-forward cabin with a dual 12.3-inch display setup for the instrument cluster and infotainment system, complemented by a 5-inch screen dedicated to climate controls. Standard features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, a panoramic sunroof, and heated and ventilated front seats. The vehicle also supports over-the-air (OTA) updates and connected car technologies.

Safety is a priority, with the K4 hatchback equipped with 29 advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), including a 360-degree camera system to aid in parking and maneuvering.

The K4 hatchback offers two petrol engine choices:

• 2.0-litre Naturally Aspirated Engine: Delivers 147 hp and 179 Nm of torque, paired with Kia’s Intelligent Variable Transmission (IVT) for smooth and efficient performance.
• 1.6-litre Turbocharged Engine: Produces 190 hp and 264 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. This variant is available in the GT-Line Turbo trim, which includes a sport-tuned suspension for enhanced handling dynamics.

Trim levels include EX, GT-Line, and GT-Line Turbo, allowing customers to choose the configuration that best suits their preferences for performance and features.
