Maruti Alto K10 Gets Six Airbags as Standard, Prices Start at ₹4.23 Lakh
Maruti Suzuki has updated the Alto K10, making six airbags a standard feature across all variants. This safety upgrade has led to a price increase ranging from ₹6,000 to ₹16,000, depending on the model.
Updated Prices for Alto K10 Variants
Here’s a look at the revised pricing:
- Standard variant – ₹4.23 lakh (earlier ₹4.09 lakh)
- LXI – ₹5.00 lakh (₹6,000 increase)
- VXI – ₹5.31 lakh (₹16,000 increase)
- VXI+ – ₹5.60 lakh (₹10,000 increase)
- VXI AMT – ₹5.81 lakh (₹16,000 increase)
- VXI+ AMT – ₹6.10 lakh (₹10,000 increase)
- LXI CNG – ₹5.90 lakh (₹6,000 increase)
- VXI CNG – ₹6.21 lakh (₹16,000 increase)
Additional Safety Features
Besides six airbags, the Alto K10 now comes with:

✔ Three-point seat belts for all rear passengers
✔ Luggage-retention crossbars
✔ Electronic Stability Program (ESP)
✔ Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD)
Engine & Performance
Mechanically, the Alto K10 remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 67hp, 1.0-litre petrol engine, which is E20 fuel compatible and available with both manual and AMT gearbox options. The CNG variant is also available as before.

Since its launch in 2000, Maruti Suzuki has sold over 46 lakh units of the Alto in India. Notably, around 74% of Alto K10 buyers are first-time car owners, making it one of the most preferred entry-level cars in the country.
