MG Motor India has introduced the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition, priced at ₹7.8 lakh (ex-showroom). This special edition enhances the standard Comet EV with distinctive design elements and an exclusive feature upgrade.

Design and Exterior

The Comet EV Blackstorm Edition showcases a sleek ‘Starry Black’ exterior, accentuated by vibrant red highlights. The front fascia features red ‘Morris Garages’ lettering, red accents around the fog lamps, and a red-accented skid plate. Silver detailing near the headlights and along the connected LED light strip adds a touch of contrast. Side profiles are enhanced with body cladding featuring red inserts and blacked-out alloy wheels outlined in red.

Interior and Features

Inside, the Blackstorm Edition combines black upholstery with red stitching and ‘Blackstorm’ embossing on the front headrests. Beige tones on the door panels, dashboard, and center console provide a balanced aesthetic. The vehicle retains the dual 10.25-inch screens for infotainment and driver information, supporting wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A notable addition is the exclusive four-speaker sound system, enhancing the audio experience. Other features include a multifunction steering wheel, USB ports, LED headlights, connected car technology, electronically adjustable ORVMs, and manual air conditioning.

Safety

Safety features remain consistent with the standard model, offering dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability program (ESP), rear parking sensors, a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear disc brakes, a rearview camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, hill hold assist, and a digital key with sharing functionality.

Powertrain

The Blackstorm Edition is powered by a 17.3 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of 230 km. The electric motor produces 42 PS and 110 Nm of torque, ensuring efficient urban mobility.

Pricing and Availability

Priced at ₹7.8 lakh (ex-showroom), the Comet EV Blackstorm Edition operates under a battery rental scheme, charging ₹2.5 per kilometer.
