
Simple Energy has introduced the Simple One Gen 1.5 electric scooter in India, maintaining its price at ₹1,66,000 (ex-showroom Bengaluru). This updated model retains the design and mechanical components of its predecessor while offering enhancements in range and features.
Design
The Simple One Gen 1.5 showcases a compact and sharp aesthetic, accentuated by striking color options. Its body panels are crafted to present a sleek appearance, complemented by integrated all-LED headlights, indicators, and tail lights, enhancing its modern look.
Performance
Equipped with a 4.5kWh lithium-ion battery pack, the Gen 1.5’s motor delivers a peak power of 8.5kW and a maximum torque of 72Nm. The scooter now boasts an Indian Driving Cycle (IDC) certified range of 248 kilometers, an improvement from the previous 212 kilometers. It can accelerate from 0 to 40 km/h in 2.77 seconds, providing a brisk riding experience. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a chain drive.
Features
The Gen 1.5 is equipped with an all-LED lighting system and retains the 7-inch TFT display from the previous model. This display features auto-brightness adjustment and customizable visual themes, providing essential information and supporting smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. Additional functionalities include turn-by-turn navigation, SMS and call alerts, music controls, and digital document storage. Notable features encompass multiple ride modes, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), regenerative braking, Over-The-Air (OTA) updates, geofencing, and park assist with forward and reverse movement capabilities. Practical elements such as a 30-liter underseat storage compartment and a USB charging port enhance user convenience.
With its extended range and enriched feature set, the Simple One Gen 1.5 strengthens its position in the electric scooter market, competing with models like the Ather 450X, TVS iQube ST, and Ola S1 Pro+.
