TVS confirms Norton India launch by end 2025

TVS to Launch Norton Motorcycles in India by 2025
TVS Motor Company has confirmed that it will introduce the legendary British motorcycle brand, Norton, to India by the end of 2025. This follows TVS’s acquisition of Norton in 2020 for ₹153 crore and a subsequent investment of over ₹1,000 crore to rejuvenate the brand and develop new motorcycles.
What to Expect from Norton’s Indian Debut
TVS plans to manufacture Norton motorcycles in India, making them more accessible to Indian riders. The company is working on a new range of Norton bikes, with the first models expected to be revealed around September 2025 and available for purchase by the end of the year. These bikes are expected to feature engine capacities between 400cc and 650cc, which will directly compete with Royal Enfield in the retro-style motorcycle segment.
Strategic Manufacturing and Export Benefits
Although the main production will happen in India, some bikes will still be manufactured at Norton’s facility in Solihull, UK. The recent India-UK Free Trade Agreement will help both countries by enabling faster scaling of production and a shared supply chain, which benefits the Indian market as well. TVS’s MD, Sudarshan Venu, emphasized that this trade agreement will help the company ramp up operations quickly and streamline the supply process.
Future Plans for Norton
TVS plans to launch six new Norton models by 2027, focusing on design, performance, and details. The new Norton motorcycles, produced in India, will compete alongside locally made Triumph and Harley-Davidson bikes, targeting Royal Enfield’s stronghold in the retro motorcycle market.
TVS’s move with Norton signals a strong push to capture the Indian market for premium retro motorcycles. Let me know if you’d like more details on the models or any comparisons with their competitors!
