After a lengthy wait, Aprilia has introduced the Tuareg 660 in the Indian market, priced between Rs 18.85 lakh to Rs 19.16 lakh (ex-showroom, India). This launch also includes updated pricing for the flagship RSV4 Factory and the 660 twins. The Tuareg 660 is powered by the same 659cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine as the RS and Tuono 660, delivering 80hp at 9,250rpm and 70Nm of torque at 6,500rpm. Weighing in at 204kg with a fully filled 18-litre fuel tank, it’s relatively light for a twin-cylinder adventure motorcycle. However, its 860mm seat height may pose a challenge for shorter riders.
Featuring a tubular steel frame with the engine as a stressed member, the Tuareg 660 boasts fully adjustable suspension from KYB, comprising a USD fork and monoshock offering 240mm of wheel travel at both ends. Braking is handled by twin 300mm discs up front with Brembo calipers and a 260mm rear disc. The Tuareg sports a 21/18-inch wire-spoked wheel setup with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tubeless tires. It comes equipped with a range of electronic rider aids, including traction control, engine braking, cruise control, riding modes, and switchable dual-channel ABS. Despite its impressive features, the Tuareg’s price tag is on the higher side due to being a CBU import. The model is available in multiple color options, with prices ranging from Rs 18.85 lakh to Rs 19.16 lakh.
Aprilia has also adjusted prices for other models in its lineup for 2024. The Tuono 660 is now priced at Rs 17.44 lakh, the RS 660 at Rs 17.74 lakh, and the RSV4 Factory at Rs 31.26 lakh, reflecting increases compared to previous prices. These bikes, imported from Italy, require a 50 percent booking deposit with an estimated waiting period of around three months. However, Aprilia’s limited dealer network and premium pricing may limit their appeal to a niche segment of enthusiasts in India.
