BMW G 310 GS and G 310 R discontinued

BMW Motorrad has officially discontinued its entry-level motorcycles, the G 310 R and G 310 GS, in India. These models, developed in collaboration with TVS Motor Company, were first introduced in 2018 and have been on sale for approximately eight years.
The discontinuation is primarily due to the implementation of the new OBD-2B emission regulations, which came into effect on April 1, 2025. Both models were at the end of their product life cycles and faced increasing competition from more powerful and feature-rich alternatives in the market.
Production of the G 310 R and G 310 GS ceased in January 2025. Prior to their discontinuation, BMW offered substantial year-end discounts of up to ₹50,000 on the G 310 GS to clear existing inventory. As a result, it’s unlikely that there is any unsold stock remaining. Currently, the G 310 R has been removed from BMW’s official website, while the G 310 GS is still listed, suggesting limited availability.
Despite the discontinuation of these models, BMW continues to offer the G 310 RR in India. This model is based on the TVS Apache RR 310 but features BMW-specific branding and livery. It is powered by the same 312cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces 34 horsepower and 27 Nm of torque.
Looking ahead, BMW plans to introduce the F 450 GS Enduro in the Indian market. This upcoming model was unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 and is expected to serve as a successor to the discontinued G 310 GS, offering enhanced features and performance.
