BYD has officially unveiled the updated Atto 3 electric SUV, showcasing a refreshed exterior design and enhanced driver assistance features.
Exterior Design Updates
The facelifted Atto 3 presents a sportier front fascia, featuring a redesigned bumper equipped with an integrated camera and a larger trapezoidal air intake. While the headlights retain their previous design, they are accentuated by a distinctive “Dragon’s Whiskers” chrome element bridging them. The SUV also introduces a new body color option and partially blackened D-pillars. At the rear, enhancements include a revamped roof spoiler with dual brake lights and taillights incorporating a Chinese knot pattern with dynamic turn signals.
Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS)
A significant addition to the updated Atto 3 is BYD’s “God’s Eye C” (DiSus 100) driving assistance system. This system features a tri-camera setup mounted beneath the windshield, complemented by four surround-view cameras, five long-range cameras, five millimeter-wave radars, and twelve ultrasonic sensors, totaling 29 sensors. This comprehensive sensor suite enables the vehicle to support ten high-speed navigation scenarios and offers six intelligent parking modes.
Dimensions and Performance
The updated Atto 3 maintains its predecessor’s dimensions, measuring 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width, and 1,615 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. It is powered by a front-mounted electric motor delivering 150 kW (201 hp). Two LFP battery options are available: a 49.9 kWh pack offering a 430 km range and a 60.5 kWh pack providing a 510 km range, both based on CLTC standards.
Market Availability
The company has yet to confirm its exact launch plans for the Atto 3 facelift. Since BYD has been attempting to grow its presence in India, the facelifted Atto 3 will most likely make it here as well.
