Kia has unveiled its first van, the PV5, ahead of its initially planned debut at the 2025 EV Day event on February 27. This vehicle marks the introduction of Kia’s Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV), a modular skateboard architecture designed to support all-electric, multi-purpose utility vehicles for both private and commercial use.
Design and Body Styles
The PV5 is available in two distinct body styles: Passenger and Cargo. Both versions share a sleek, futuristic design, but the Cargo model omits rear seating to maximize storage capacity.
- Front Fascia: The van features high-mounted angular LED strips that function as indicators, with primary headlight units positioned lower on the front. The charging port is centrally located on the front fascia, accompanied by a front-facing camera above and a large radar sensor below.
- Side Profile: The PV5 showcases plastic body cladding along the lower sections, robust side mirrors, and expansive windows. The pillars, bonnet, and upper fenders are finished in black, enhancing its modern aesthetic.
- Rear Design: The Passenger variant is equipped with a single lift-up tailgate, while the Cargo version features dual side-opening rear doors, catering to different user needs.
Interior Features
