BYD Sealion 7 to launch on February 17

BYD India has officially announced that the Sealion 7, its latest electric SUV, will be launched on February 17, 2025. This model, which was showcased at the Auto Expo 2025, is set to become the brand’s most premium offering in the Indian market.

Variants and Performance

The Sealion 7 will be available in two distinct variants:

1. Premium RWD: This rear-wheel-drive variant is equipped with a 313hp motor, delivering 380Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds and offers a New European Driving Cycle (NEDC) range of 567 km on a single charge.
2. Performance AWD: Featuring an all-wheel-drive system, this variant boasts a powerful 530hp motor with 690Nm of torque. It achieves 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds and provides an NEDC range of 542 km.

Both variants come with an 82.56kWh battery pack. Notably, these specifications are similar to those of the BYD Seal sedan, with differences primarily in torque output.

Interior Features

Inside, the Sealion 7 offers a host of premium features:

• Infotainment: A prominent 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto serves as the central hub for most vehicle functions.
• Comfort: Ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver’s seat with memory function, and a panoramic glass roof contribute to a luxurious driving experience.
• Technology: A head-up display (HUD), ambient lighting, a 12-speaker audio system, wireless phone charging, and a powered tailgate are among the advanced features included.
• Utility: The vehicle-to-load (V2L) feature allows external devices to be powered using the car’s battery, adding a layer of practicality.

Safety

Safety is a priority in the Sealion 7, which comes equipped with 11 airbags and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite. Key safety features include forward collision alert, blind-spot detection, and lane departure warning, ensuring comprehensive protection for occupants.

Booking and Promotional Offers

Bookings for the Sealion 7 commenced on January 18, 2025, with a token amount of Rs 70,000. As part of a promotional offer, BYD is contributing an additional Rs 70,000 towards the price of the car. Customers will also benefit from a 7-year/1,50,000 km warranty and a complimentary 7kW AC home charger with free installation. Deliveries for the first 70 units are scheduled to begin on March 7, 2025.
