Kia Syros Test Drive Review: Not Bad at all

Jan 30, 2025

The 2025 Kia Syros is Kia’s latest entrant into the sub-4-metre SUV segment, positioned between the Sonet and Seltos in the Indian market. With its distinctive design and a host of features, the Syros aims to set new benchmarks in its category.

Kia Syros Exterior

The Syros has an extremely unique design, looking more like a concept car than something you’d buy. It definitely stands out on the road and attracts attention. People will often ask if it’s electric or gas-powered, and you’ll likely get a lot of thumbs-up.

The Syros has a boxy, upright shape, similar to Kia’s bigger SUVs like the EV9. Its bold design makes it really noticeable and will appeal to drivers who want a car that’s different.

The Syros has a flat hood, like many SUVs. The headlights are stacked vertically, and a thin LED strip along the hood acts as the daytime running lights. The grille is small and low on the bumper. The sides are very boxy. The top HTX+(O) model has 17-inch wheels, while the other models have 16-inch wheels.

Kia Syros Interior

The Syros is packed with technology. A huge 30-inch display combines three screens: one for entertainment, one for climate control, and one for the driver. A massive panoramic sunroof is another highlight. A Harman/Kardon sound system, six airbags, and advanced driver-assistance features like adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go are all standard.

Kia Syros Engine Specs

The Syros comes with a choice of a turbo-petrol or turbo-diesel engine. The 1.5L diesel engine makes 114 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission. This setup provides smooth performance, good for both city driving and highway cruising.
