Mahindra is set to launch the Scorpio N Black Edition, featuring blacked-out trims, on Monday. This special edition aims to enhance the SUV’s appeal and may extend to other Mahindra models in the future.
Design and Features:
- Exterior Enhancements: The Black Edition boasts blacked-out 17-inch alloy wheels, window trim side moulding, roof rails, and door handles. While the standard Scorpio N offers two black shades—Midnight Black and Stealth Black—the Black Edition will be exclusively available in Stealth Black.
- Interior Upgrades: Aligning with its exterior theme, the Black Edition features a black dashboard, replacing the traditional tanned one. Additionally, the leatherette upholstery, door trims, and roof liner are all finished in black, providing a cohesive and premium feel.
Pricing and Variants:
The Black Edition will be available exclusively on the top-spec Z8 and Z8L 7-seat variants of the Scorpio N. It is expected to carry a premium of ₹20,000 over the standard model’s ex-showroom price. For example, the standard Z8L AT 4WD Diesel is priced at ₹24.69 lakh; with the Black Edition package, it would be approximately ₹24.89 lakh.
Engine and Performance:
The Scorpio N Black Edition will retain the existing powertrain options:
- Petrol: A 2.0-litre turbocharged engine producing 203hp.
- Diesel: A 2.2-litre engine delivering 175hp, available with both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
With its enhanced aesthetics and a modest price increase, the Scorpio N Black Edition is poised to offer customers a distinctive and stylish alternative in the SUV market.
