Royal Enfield Classic 650 launched at Rs 3.37 lakh

Mar 28, 2025

Royal Enfield has officially launched the Classic 650 Twin in India, with prices starting at ₹3.37 lakh and reaching up to ₹3.50 lakh for the top-tier Chrome variant. This much-anticipated model, first unveiled at EICMA last year, is now available for bookings, with deliveries set to commence in April.

Engine and Performance

The Classic 650 Twin is powered by Royal Enfield’s reliable 648cc, air/oil-cooled, twin-cylinder engine. This engine delivers 47 horsepower and 52.3 Nm of torque, maintaining the performance standards seen in other models utilizing the same powerplant. The motorcycle shares its main frame, subframe, and engine tuning with the Shotgun 650, ensuring a familiar yet refined riding experience.

Design and Features

Embracing a traditional retro aesthetic, the Classic 650 Twin distinguishes itself with abundant chrome detailing, including on the switchgear and wheel hubs. It features a 19-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, both fitted with bespoke MRF NyloHigh tubed wire-spoke tyres developed specifically for this model. The suspension system comprises a 43mm telescopic fork with 120mm of travel at the front and twin rear shocks offering 90mm of travel, components borrowed from the Shotgun 650.

Weight and Additional Features

Weighing in at 243 kg with a fully fueled 14.7-litre tank, the Classic 650 Twin is the heaviest motorcycle in Royal Enfield’s current lineup. It retains several features from its 350cc sibling, including a digi-analogue display, the Tripper navigation pod, and a USB charger. Additionally, it introduces a slip-and-assist clutch for enhanced riding comfort.

Color Options and Pricing

The Classic 650 Twin is available in four distinct color options:

  • Bruntingthorpe Blue: ₹3.37 lakh
  • Vallam Red: ₹3.37 lakh
  • Teal: ₹3.41 lakh
  • Black Chrome: ₹3.50 lakh

All prices are ex-showroom, Chennai.

Bookings for the Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin are now open, with deliveries expected to begin by April.
