Bajaj Chetak 3503 Launched at ₹1.10 Lakh as Most Affordable Model in the Lineup
Bajaj Auto has introduced the Chetak 3503, its most cost-effective electric scooter to date, priced at ₹1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). This new variant offers the same fundamental platform as its premium siblings but scales back on certain features to provide a more budget-friendly option.
🔋 Battery, Range & Performance
- Battery: The Chetak 3503 comes with a 3.5kWh battery pack, delivering a claimed range of 155 km per charge.
- Top Speed: It has a maximum speed of 63 km/h, slightly lower than other models in the 35 series.
- Charging: Charging from 0% to 80% takes around 3 hours and 25 minutes, which is marginally longer than the top-end models.
🛠️ Features and Design
- Display: It is equipped with a colour LCD display that supports basic Bluetooth functionality.
- Brakes: This variant uses a front drum brake, in contrast to the disc brakes found in higher-end models.
- Key Features: While it does not feature sequential turn indicators, it still offers Eco and Sport riding modes, hill-hold assist, and retains the robust metal body that defines the Chetak lineup.
- Storage: The scooter includes a 35-litre underseat storage compartment, thanks to the same chassis used in more expensive versions.
💰 Pricing and Market Placement
- Price Difference: The 3503 is ₹20,000 cheaper than the 3501 (₹1.30 lakh) and ₹12,000 less than the 3502 (₹1.22 lakh).
- Alternative Option: Bajaj continues to sell the Chetak 2903—a more entry-level model—with a smaller 2.9kWh battery and 123 km range, priced at ₹98,498.
- Rival Models: The Chetak 3503 competes with other affordable electric scooters like the Ather Rizta S, Ola S1 X+, and TVS iQube 3.4.
With this new model, Bajaj aims to broaden access to electric two-wheelers while maintaining its hallmark build quality and essential features.
