Kia EV4 specs revealed

Kia has introduced its latest electric vehicle, the EV4, which will be available in both sedan and hatchback versions. The EV4 is set to debut in South Korea in March 2025, followed by launches in other global markets.
Battery and Performance
The EV4 comes with two battery options: a 58.3kWh standard battery and a larger 81.4kWh long-range version. Both variants are powered by a front-mounted electric motor that generates 201hp, reaching a top speed of 170kph. The standard battery model accelerates from 0 to 100kph in 7.4 seconds, while the long-range version takes 7.7 seconds.
Range and Charging
The long-range EV4 sedan offers a driving range of up to 630km per the WLTP cycle, whereas the hatchback variant provides a slightly lower range of 590km. Charging the long-range battery from 10% to 80% via a DC fast charger takes around 31 minutes, while the standard battery requires 29 minutes. Using an AC charger, the long-range battery reaches full charge in about 7.15 hours, while the standard battery takes 5.2 hours.
Interior Features
Inside the cabin, the EV4 boasts a 30-inch panoramic display consisting of two 12.3-inch screens for infotainment and instrument readings, along with a 5.3-inch HVAC control panel. Other notable features include customizable ambient lighting, an optional eight-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, over-the-air software updates, and access to entertainment apps such as Netflix and YouTube.
Exterior Design
The EV4 sedan has a length of 4,730mm, putting it in the same category as the Mercedes C-Class. The design closely resembles the 2023 EV4 concept, with a redesigned grille housing radar sensors, 19-inch alloy wheels, and flush door handles. The sportier GT Line variant features triangular-patterned alloy wheels and wing-shaped bumpers. The hatchback version is slightly shorter at 4,430mm and includes vertically stacked LED headlights, black cladding, a sunroof, a large black spoiler, and distinctively designed tail-lights.
Market Positioning
On the global stage, the EV4 sedan is set to compete with the Tesla Model 3, while the hatchback will rival models like the Volkswagen ID.3 and Volvo EX40. Pricing details have not been disclosed yet. The EV4 is expected to be positioned below the Kia EV6 facelift, for which bookings have already begun.
With its balance of performance, advanced technology, and strategic pricing, the Kia EV4 is poised to establish a strong presence in the growing electric vehicle segment.
