Tata Sierra EV interior leaked via design patent

Recent design patent images have provided an in-depth look at the interior of the upcoming Tata Sierra EV, indicating that the production model will closely mirror the concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2023.
Dashboard and Infotainment
The dashboard prominently features a large central touchscreen, estimated to be around 12 inches, seamlessly integrated with the digital instrument cluster. Below this touchscreen, the central air conditioning vents are more pronounced than those seen in the concept, while the side vents are elegantly incorporated into horizontal lines spanning the dashboard. The four-spoke steering wheel from the concept has been retained in the production model.
Design Elements and Customization
The dashboard exhibits a stepped design that gracefully descends, complemented by a centrally mounted speaker, consistent with the concept’s design. Although the moss inserts present in the concept are absent in the production model, Tata Motors’ head of design, Martin Ulharik, has indicated that such features could be offered as accessories for buyers interested in personalizing their vehicle. Potential customization options may include mini flower vases for the door panels, fold-out tray tables, and ambient lamp shades.
Seating Configurations
The Sierra EV is expected to be available in two seating configurations: a standard five-seat layout and a four-seat lounge setup, the latter featuring an ottoman function for the rear seats, enhancing passenger comfort.
Switchgear and Center Console
Certain controls and features are anticipated to be shared with the Tata Curvv EV, including a touch-based HVAC panel and a drive selector lever. The center console is likely to maintain a floating design, offering additional storage space beneath it, as observed in the concept model.
Differentiation from ICE Variant
Notably, the Sierra EV’s interior will differ from its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart. The ICE version, showcased earlier, featured a triple-screen layout extending across the dashboard, setting it apart from the EV variant and highlighting Tata Motors’ approach to distinguishing between the two models.
Launch Timeline
The Tata Sierra EV is slated for launch by the end of 2025, marking a significant addition to Tata Motors’ electric vehicle lineup.
